A New Month, A New Social Life Cover, Another Social Life Party

by Adam Bertrand · August 15, 2008

devorah1At the beginning of every month out east there are two things I look forward to: The new release of Social Life Magazine AND the Issue Release Party at the Social Life Estate in Watermill. The two go together better than peanut butter and jelly. Early August was no exception as the east end jet-setters pulled themselves away from the BH Polo matches to get ready to celebrate Polo player Chris Del Gatto’s Social Life Cover at the SL Estate.

This is the one party that you always have to get to on time or you won’t be getting in. OR, you might get in but you have to worry whether your Porsche out front is getting towed. By the time I left I watched the angry cops taking pleasure in towing luxurious cars like the blue Porsche convertible that was parked next to the driveway. Ironically, the cops were not toying with the Hondas or Fords. Clearly some selective animosity there!

Behind the gates and down the long driveway, just past the brightly lit step and repeat, over 200 guests. Designer Michael Mione, celebrity hair stylist Francky L’Official, model Teddy John, artist Justin Love, Michael Lohan, Erin Muller and Barbara Biba of Biba Boutique all celebrated the summer polo season in style.  The event was sponsored by Peroni, Angostura Bitters and Nikki Beach Midtown, and attendees toasted Del Gatto (who is also the CEO and Chairman of CIRCA, the only international jewelry buying house in the United States).

Fun friends and admirers like Victoria Kirby, Lilly Schonwald, Adriel Reboh, Keren Eldad, Katrina and Don Pebbles, and Tia Walker enjoyed the poolside Taittinger champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres by Elegant Affairs, while Social Life’s Justin Mitchell and Devorah Rose (doubling as a Plum TV hostess) congratulated Del Gatto on his August cover and his CIRCA team’s accomplishments at the Southampton Hunt & Polo Club. Meanwhile, I was toasting myself for a job well done on page 42! In case you missed it, I pulled together a page on pieces of Flair (aka killer accessories) to get you noticed at BH We’ll see you in September. At the Social Life Estate, that is!
