Ruschmeyer's was transformed into a DIY paradise this weekend as bloggers and creative minds alike put their hands to work. Kind of like a chic summer camp, there were activities planned for almost every hour of the day, except for the few hours where the only thing to focus on was alcohol. Created and produced by No Subject, a marketing and events agency based in LA, this is the kind of place where good ideas are created, cultivated and shared with the rest of the world!
I Spy DIY taught everyone in the ways of creating tribal necklaces and bracelets, while Hearty Mag lead the snapback decorating party and Holst & Lee lead a workshop on how to make the key chains that each of the hotel room keys come on.
Blind Barber doled out some beauty advice for the dudes, as well as some tips to running a well rounded business, like their own, and The Hairpin lead a tutorial on how to become a modern version of the five leading ladies of Mad Men. Bet you didn't know that DIY can also apply to alcohol! High West Distillery taught lessons on blending your own whiskey drinks and Dandelion Wines introduced ideas for creative wine cocktails.
Guests ate locally at the Ruschmeyer's restaurant and were treated to many bouts of drinks, from a champagne toast to an evening of partying, but were able to work it all off with Chaise23 founder Lauren Piskin's Pilates boot camp. Post workout Create & Cultivaters sipped on customized Designer Whey protein shakes to refuel and while snacking on a delicious new treat called Sheila G's Brownie Brittle. All in all, we wish our summer camps were this creative and this much fun, alcohol included.
