Okay, so we know you're going out to dinner this Saturday night, but this week why not switch it up a little bit and have your dinner represent a greater cause? Falling Whistles' founder Sean Carasso is teaming up with Ari and David Goldberg, the founders of StyleCaster, to present a (delicious) Evening for Peace in Congo at Georgica Restaurant and Lounge. With executive chef, Sean Levine, behind the scenes whipping up a three course meal and putting together a carefully selected wine pairing, you know you your taste buds will be treated right.
The proceeds from the whistles sold by Falling Whistles goes towards the war-afflicted communities in the Congo, and the most precious resources located there: children. The war in The Democratic Republic, which can be linked to disputes over natural resources, has been fought since post WWII, and has taken the lives of over 6 million people. Falling Whistles partners up with local Congolese organizations to protect the lives of young children sucked into the vicious cycle of war and to help them eventually introduce the concept of peace back into their lives.
At Saturday's event, guests will get a sneak peek at Falling Whistles’ new ‘5 Boys’ Collection and will have the opportunity to bid for an exclusive single edition pure silver & conflict free diamond whistle, handcrafted by award winning Swedish design duo LundbladBaldal. A further education on the non-profit will be presented by Falling Whistles founder Sean Carasso, but for now, take the time to click through this moving story to see how his work has already had a positive impact on lives.
