Oh summertime...from the wide-brimmed hats that keep everyone at arm's length, to the head-to-toe seersucker favored by traditional preps, we simply can't get enough of summer style. Especially Hamptons summer style.
This season, we'll be keeping an eye out for the best looks out east, and posting them on our site so you stay updated every step of the way. To start, a sneak peek into an afternoon shopping spree with Team GofG Hamptons and style genius/co-owner of Coup de Coeur personal shopping, Lucia Tait. And for your shopping convenience, all stores featured have locations both in Manhattan and the Hamptons. Aren't we thoughtful.
Trendy in Tie-Dye
To start things off, Lucia took us around Scoop (MPD location) in search of bright, summer statement pieces. In a Hamptons-goes-hippie look, Lucia paired a bright purple tie-dye maxi dress with a wide-brimmed straw hat and stacked nude heels. Perfect for an afternoon pool party, garden party, beach party, cocktail party... pretty much any type of party. Or just a leisurely stroll through the streets of East Hampton. Meow.
Sizzling in Silk
For her night-on-the-town look, Lucia chose a gorgeous draped silk strapless number. This sexy emerald green dress expertly showcases Lucia's tan and pumps up the heat with webbed-slit details on both sides. Our master style guide completed her nighttime look with an oversized tan leather clutch and sky-high nude heels. Line up, boys.

Night Prowess
Across the street at Diane von Furstenberg, Lucia and stylist Lauren Shane put yours truly in a classic DVF nighttime dress with fierce neon and animal details. They even let me try on the solid gold $16K (eee!) H.Stern bracelet...beautiful. And heavy. Perhaps this look isn't right for every Hamptons nightlife venue (see: Boardy Barn), but for a fancier fete, it's golden.

Classic Khaki
The ultimate Hamptons look: start with crisp, pleated khaki shorts and a clean white blouse, add stacked cognac heels, a snakeskin and leather tote and classic dark aviators. Long, flowing blonde hair optional (but obviously a plus). Michael Kors pretty much had all the essentials for our go-to, girl-about-town Hamptons look: the sunglasses, the shorts, the draped top, the shoes, all in variations of classic, timeless khaki and bright white. So effortless, so chic.
Killer Caftans
And for a more laid-back take on Mr. Kors' flawless signature style, Lucia selected a flowy, oversized silk caftan, and great big nude heels. She completed the beachy look with an irresistible oversized raffia tote with gold hardware, a sporty gold watch to match and plastic-framed oversized shades. This girl gives Jackie O a run for her money.
