Movie: The Notebook Summer setting: Seabrook Island, North Carolina during the 1940's Love story: A poor and passionate country boy falls in love with seventeen-year-old heiress Allie Hamilton after seeing her at a carnival and beginning a summer love affair. Allie's parents soon ban her from seeing Noah and announce they are returning home to Charleston causing them to break up. Years later, Noah fulfills his lifelong dream to restore an abandoned house that he envisioned living in with Allie. A newly-engaged Allie is startled to read in the newspaper that Noah bought the house and returns to Seabrook to see what could be. Quote:
