With all this buzz out east about the influx of music festivals coming to town (Music To Know, Escape To New York, etc.), we thought to compile a handy dandy list of some of our favorite summer songs by the bands performing soon!
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros front man, Alexander Ebert (formerly of Ima Robot,) has a new solo project entitled, Alexander. His single "A Million Years" is bound to put you in a good mood when driving down 27 this summer! Video here! He might grace us with some of his Alexander stuff at Escape to New York at the Shinnecock Reservation this summer.
The Limousines, an indie electronic band from San Francisco's Bay Area, received critical acclaim after the release of their 2010 album "Get Sharp." The band has toured with Matt & Kim, Crystal Castles, The Flaming Lips, MSTRKRFT, Cake and Yoko Ono to name a few. Their single, "Internet Killed the Radiostar" from their debut album 'Get Sharp' can be seen here.
The Naked and Famous, a New Zealand band, fronted by Alisa Xayalith and her haunting reverby vocals, are bound to get you dancing this summer. Their mysterious, beautiful videos and live sessions for songs like "Punching In a Dream" and "Young Blood" can be seen here, respectively.
Dawes, the awesome indie band, hailing from LA, made their TV debut on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson last year and have been tearing up the scene ever since. Their dreamy styled video for, "When My Time Comes," features the band members, dressed in 1920's chain-gang clothing, attempting to escape the law with their infantile accomplice. Pretty awesome to say the least. Very stoked to see these guys at the Music to Know festival this summer!
Post apocalyptic zombie fighting, featuring band members with translucent, kaleidoscopic insides?! I'LL TAKE IT! Check this video out from Nicos Gun for their single "We Are Fluorescent."
Remember to see all these guys live this summer!
