Ingrid Michaelson at the Steven Talkhouse
Where: Steven Talkhouse
Other Details: Ingrid Michaelson, indie singer and songwriter, wowed the Amagansett Talkhouse last Saturday night. Michaelson, a Brooklyn based artist, performed her last show at the Talkhouse, wrapping up her summer tour. Used to playing at bigger venues, Michaelson was taken aback by the cozy setting, and jokes with concert goers about the intimacy of the venue. She joked, "I could pick the food out of your teeth!" Guests sat at small tables and stood around the candlelit bar to hear Michaelson belt out her famous quirky love songs. One of the most surprising moments of the concerts was when Ingrid brought her husband, fellow musician Greg Laswell on stage to sing with her on stage. Although they normally don't create music together, they admitted to writing a song together and performed it for the audience. Michaelson's voice along with her back up singers Allie Moss and Bess Rogers filled the Talkhouse with harmonious rhythm and beautiful echo. One of the best live performances this summer to date.
