Camp Hero, Montauk
In the surfing world, this location is referred to as "Radar's." This is because it holds an obsolete radar tower which was installed during the 1950s to detect Soviet aircraft. Getting to Camp Hero is not that easy, but it is worth the trouble when you're enjoying the waves in a less crowded setting.
