Photo Of The Day: Humpback Whales

    [Photos by Russell Drumm for EHS] The Viking Star took a special trip just south of Block Island on July 5th with the goal of watching humpback whales feed. Not only was the weather a perfect ten but those on the boat witnessed a total of twenty-nine humpback whales feed, breach, roll, slap their tails, and blow in. During the winter months these mammals primarily feed on herring but during the summer months they feed on sand eels which are very common near Block Island.  Certainly looks like a successful weekend for the Viking Star. Cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer brings! More pictures below:
