Miley Cyrus And Lady Gaga Invade The UK: God Save The Queen!

by Chiara Atik · December 8, 2009

Queen Elizabeth hosted the annual Royal Variety performance last night in London. Previous performers have included Luciano Pavarotti, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Elton John. This year, they had Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga. It really is the end of the monarchy, isn't it?Do you think everyone's favorite queen (no, really, you have a different favorite queen?) had ANY idea who Miley was before whoever planned this thing prepped her in the car (carriage?) ride over? Also, Miley sang "Party In The USA"; I like to imagine that falling completely flat to an audience of stone-faced Londoners.

Also, please note the expression on Her Majesty's face when Lady Gaga is bowing to her. You can tell she's totally laughing to herself thinking "this chick is CRAZY". Hopefully Gaga hit her up for bestowing a real "Lady" title...

Bette Midler seems like a good choice though. I hope she sang "I'm Beautiful, Damnit". More pictures below...
