Globe Head Ballerina
What: A giant ballerina encased in a snow globe is the latest work by artist Yinka Shonibare. The ballerina positioned to appear stuck in 3rd position, and slowly rotates. The figure is modeled after Melissa Hamilton, a soloist in the Royal ballet. The sculpture is dressed in materials similar to Shonibare's other works, maintaining his African heritage.
