9. Where to drink (and shop): Fortnum & Mason [Info]
If your idea of a London afternoon doesn't include sitting down for high tea in a suit and tie, but you still want to experience the quintessential British tradition, stop by the Fortnum & Mason store on Picadilly. The five-story tea shop, founded back in 1707 as a simple grocery store and a firm favorite of the Queen, has every kind of British delicatessens from tea, coffee, ham and pâtés, to fifty types of marmalade.
Our recommendation: Make sure to stop by one of the three restaurants if you can, or at the very least, have a quick drink at the wine bar on the bottom floor.
