Phil Frost Solace of the Sword
New York artist Phil Frost is exhibiting his mixed media on cavas work at ACE Gallery. He was first known in the early 1990s for his street art in New York, which he later brought to Los Angeles. In fact, he altered a
Samuel Bayer's billboard in Los Angeles, only to have it stolen by someone who hopefully has the space to display the billboard work properly.
Frost transitioned to gallery works, where he uses object constructions with multi-layered portraits and graphic symbols laid out on a canvas. His pieces almost seem like a comical depiction of an urban tribe, but the multi-colored patterns are nothing to laugh at.
