Paul Donald: Blind
Blind can be taken both literally, as these duck-like figurines don't have eyes (or heads), and figuratively, since there's no sure sense of what they are. "Blind" also refers to something hunters use to hide from their prey, such as duck decoys-- the same objects Paul Donald uses for the pieces in his opening exhibit this Saturday. Donald is known for taking commonly used items and turning them into an art form. In Blind, he takes the craft-making of a duck decoy and transforms it into an art object. Did he succeed? You be the judge at his opening exhibit this weekend at CB1 Gallery.
