Trust, there were some great moments at tonight's iHeartRadio Music Awards, the third annual production of the show. Demi Lovato gave an ovation-worthy performance and Taylor Swift FINALLY gave a shout out to her boo, Calvin Harris (referring to him by his real name, Adam, of course). There was only one moment in the midst of all the fun that had us rolling our eyes and genuinely seeing red.
Um, CHRIS BROWN?! Yeah. He took home the prize for Best R&B Artist, winning over Beyoncé for God's sake. Can the entertainment world just do us all a favor and stop applauding this guy? Besides supporting him through the obvious "worst times" in his life - ahem - Brown thanked fans in his acceptance speech by referring to another one of his major missteps, this one much more recent. After publicly coming out on Instagram about a suicide attempt, fellow singer Kehlani was faced with ridicule by Brown via Twitter, where he posted, "There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing shit for sympathy so them comments under your pics don't look so bad." Really? At this point Brown's career feels like nothing but sympathy and it's something we should probably stop giving him.
