It might sound like an exaggeration, but every DJ still scratching on vinyl owes a debt to the Beat Junkies, whose global presence and profile not only influenced some of the best and most creative hip-hop/DJ artists working today, from Peanut Butter Wolf to Gaslamp Killer, but probably also contributed greatly to the mass-market appeal of scratching, turntablism, and vinyl culture in general.
