DON'T Wear A Mask-Based Costume
I'm conflicted about this rule, because these two masks in the photo above happen to be freaking awesome. But 9 out of 10 masks are just sweaty, moldy rubber abominations that make it impossible for you to converse, breathe, or drink, and they really have no place in a social setting. So I guess we'll make this a soft rule: don't wear a mask unless it's really cool, and even then, make sure you have enough of a non-mask costume that people can still tell what you are when you start overheating and have to ditch the mask.
