It's really a shame that roller skating has faded as a regular public activity. There's probably a few reasons for that– the increased popularity of other recreational sports, the decreased social acceptance of disco music and cocaine– but still, it's a fun, lively way to spend an evening. Besides, if we've learned anything from John Travolta (other than that you should always negotiate a massage upfront), it's that you can wear whatever you want to the roller rink.
