Another sexist thing about the internet/entertainment journalism I don't like: when people review Chris Brown albums and start sentences with things like "But once you get past the controversy, the album itself..." followed by some sunny-side-up look at the music alone. I know the worst offense in internet arguing is to reference a certain mid-20th-century German national socialist dictator, so strictly metaphorically speaking, if I were a bad guy that took over a country and did some really bad things but then I was also a painter, I wouldn't necessarily expect people to be able to evaluate my paintings independent of the whole "genocide" hullabaloo. Just a thought.
And yes, I know most artists are shady weirdos and Caravaggio supposedly dismembered a drifter or whatever. Are you comparing Chris Brown to Caravaggio? Now who's the asshole?
