According to the Occupy UCLA Facebook page, the "sit-in" was a protest conceived and executed by politically active UCLA students associated with the Occupy movement and ReFund California's ReFund Public Education Week, an organized week of statewide protests and activism against the ever increasing tuition hikes and budget cuts throughout the UC system.
