The more we thought about it, the more impossible it was to whittle down the crazy that is Nic Cage to a single moment, bad purchase, or overindulgence: you really don't fall so devastatingly and fully in debt unless your life has consisted of a string of horrible financial decisions, including buying an English faux-castle built in the shape of the ace of clubs, a two private islands in the Bahamas, a $276k dinosaur skull (for which he reportedly out-bid Leonardo DiCaprio), 50 or so cars, some of the rarest comic books in the world, and several other ultra-luxe properties around the world on top of all that. And of course, it never helps when you don't pay your taxes on all that stuff, which is why Nic has been slapped with several multi-million dollar liens from the IRS.
