L.A. got infused with a bit Marrakesh flavor last night with the opening event of Minnie Mortimer and the Chic Shop by Hillary Thomas Designs event, "An Evening at El Morocco."
For the grand debut of their new Brentwood outposts, designers Minnie Mortimer and Hillary Thomas took over the courtyard of their shops to throw a family-friendly Moroccan-inspired soiree. Guests, which included the hostesses and Mortimer's Oscar-winning filmmaker husband Stephen Gaghan, were invited to enjoy some Mediterranean treats, cocktails, and get first dibs shopping the merch at the new stores. Mortimer's eponymous shop carries her line of women's sportswear while Thomas' offers her eclectic "wabi sabi"-inspired home furnishings. A little retail indulgence was guilt-free with 20% of all sales from the evening donated to Operation Smile. The night was made complete with the "salty noir" live music performance by Bandito Royale.
With the opening of their stores, we foresee many a Brentwood mom making this their one-stop-shop for a little wardrobe, decor, and gift shopping on their way to Maha Yoga.
