In an impromptu speech given before the screening, Roske talked of the goals of the production: “Bobby Kennedy gave a speech once where he talked about ripples of hope. I hope this film builds a current against the jaded nature of our modern politics and to help a renewed sense of service and American patriotism. Also, if you want to learn about the Iowa caucuses this film is the best way to do it. Authentic caucus locations, real Iowan politicos, the caucus strategies – it’s all there.” – Director Brent Roske.
Other notable attendees at Raleigh Studios included Grammy winner Delious Kennedy (All 4 One), actors Jordan Belfi (‘Entourage’), Ken Davitian (‘Borat’), Jilon Van Over (‘Hatfields & McCoys’), producer John Shepherd (Man Down), Ron Truppa (Founder, Catalina Film Festival) and producer John Sullivan (Michelle Monaghan in ‘Fort Bliss’) who had this to say about the film: "’Courting Des Moines’ serves as a good reminder that “all politics is local” and that the true heart of democracy lies with actual breathing, human citizens coming together to determine their future by exercising the power of their vote."
Courting Des Moines is currently being shopped to distributors for potential release before the Presidential election in November.
