[All photos by Andreas Branch via PMc] Last night, before heading out to Coachella many of Hollywood's A-listers came out to toast the new and improved Tod's Beverly Hills boutique with CEO Diego Della Valle. In addition to honoring the brand's newly refurbished shop, famous for their pricey driving shoes/moccasins with the little rubber nubs on the bottom, the event was also a welcome celebration of MOCA's new Director, Jerry Deitch. Among those who attended were Kate Bosworth, Angelica Houston, Jessica Alba, Pierce Brosnan, and Kate Beckinsale. The cocktail party was followed by a private dinner at the Sunset Tower Hotel where guests continued the celebration of the two developments.
The new museum honcho has plans for some very interesting projects for MOCA and we're excited to see how his appointment pans out. On deck is an exhibition of Dennis Hopper's photography of L.A. and other cities from the 70s and on, curated by Julian Schnabel. So will the seasoned gallery owner and art dealer be able to rescue and revive L.A.'s ailing museum from its financial woes? Only time will tell. In the meantime, Hollywood can celebrate Deitch's new role at MOCA with red carpet cocktail events and pose for cameras as an excuse to get all fancy.
