Not all nail salons are created equal. We know this because certain salons, and certain salons only, manage to acquire a complete devotion from anyone who passes through their doors, the kind of buzz and clientele that turns one store into two, then three, and finally into a regional powerhouse that gets national attention and a spot on every local "Best Of" list. In Southern California, that salon is Bellacures, and in six short years they've gone from a single Beverly Hills location to five in the L.A. area. Now, they're expanding into Orange County where we were on hand for the Grand Opening VIP Mix And Mingle last night presented by Spaphile and Buzzsmith Media, at Bellacures' brand new Newport Beach - Balboa Island location.

So what is it that separates the truly beloved salon from the merely average? Top notch technicians obviously make a huge difference, as does cleanliness (and it should come as no surprise that Bellacures is head and shoulders above the competition in both of both of those areas), but an equally important element is a level of comfort and style that take an activity that can feel like an errand and transform it into a luxurious escape from daily life. At the VIP Mix And Mingle, celebrities and friends were all treated like royalty, as they sipped on Pama Pomegranate Liqueur cocktails and nibbled desserts from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Orange Country's new concept beauty salon Blo-Out Lounge was on hand to provide complimentary blo-outs and makeup touch-ups, and everyone was given a Snapsac gift bag with luxurious goodies from Bootleg Chocolates, Jo Malone, Make Up For Ever, and Katie Waltman Jewelry.

But the focus, of course, was on the signature Bellacures hand and foot service. Celebrities in attendance like Korrina Rico, Kim Lee, Kelly Heyer, Madison Leisle, Laci Kay, Kelly Heyer, Karling Abbeygate, Bryce Foster, Kata & Katelyn Pacitto, Madison Bontempo and Katrina Nova, many of whom were already Bellacures devotees, were able to enjoy the much celebrated spa-like nail services in their famously impeccable salon, leaving all feeling refreshed and reinvigorated with the artful pampering treatment.
