Slide #1

The Covenant House California annual gala and awards dinner honored multi-talented musician and composer Herbie Hancock, a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, as well as Executive Director George R. Lozano, who is hanging his hat after 22 years of good service. Guests took in a decadent dinner as an all-star cast of jazz musicians, including award-winning saxophonist Wayne Shorter, hit the stage to fill the Skirball Center with good vibes. [Herbie Hancock] The good karma train was packed with celebrity talent including Gabriel Mann of the hit show "Revenge," Vinessa Shaw from 3:10 to Yuma, Mekhi Phifer, Cesar Millan, Khandi Alexander from "CSI: Miami" and Quinton Aaron from The Blind Side. A-list entertainers graciously spoke as they presented the awards, and then kept hush during the silent auction. A DJ set rounded out the night and kept guests on their feet.
