Pretty Lights Two full weeks before its July 2nd drop date, KCRW music director Jason Bentley hosted a Pretty Lights listening party for A Color Map of the Sun and essential companion Live Studio Sessions From A Color Map of the Sun. The special event held at the acoustically-designed Sonos Studio on La Brea also featured a Q&A with Derek Vincent Smith, the pioneer behind the electro soul hip-hop musical project known a Pretty Lights, moderated by Bentley. The highlight of the night was a very special and exclusive live performance from Pretty Lights debuting selections from the two-CD collection ahead of its release. After dancing to the live sounds of Pretty Lights underneath the light show, fans enjoyed a special screening of a new documentary chronicling the making of both Color Map CDs. If you missed this unforgettable night with Pretty Lights or just want to relive the experience, a recording of the session will air on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" show on July 2nd, so mark your calendars.
