Your parents always told you that if you did drugs, you'd never amount to anything. And although they were just playing the averages and were most likely correct, we know that there's at least a chance it can work out, as rock (and drug) legends Jane's Addiction was inducted yesterday into the Guitar Center RockWalk, where their handprints and signatures joined the impressions of the greatest Rock Gods in the world, from Jimi Hendrix to Elvis.

With a crowd of rock faithful watching, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello hosted the induction of longtime core members Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, and Stephen Perkins. If the event felt less like a swan song than these inductions normally do, it's because Jane's Addiction is gearing up for their most productive year in quite a few, with plans to release a new studio album (tentatively titled The Great Escape Artist) and head out on a world tour. They still have the chops, based on how they rocked Tim Burton's LACMA opening.

Just to be clear, we're still not instructing you to do drugs. We're just saying, if you're gonna, make sure you're really good at making rock music also.
