Under the stars of Marina Del Rey, a crowd of revelers got a head-start on Fat Tuesday by filling the outdoor lounge space with the sounds, sights and tastes of Bourbon Street. Authentically costumed samba dancers, stilt-walkers and performance artists brought the true Carnival atmosphere, and beads and masks were available for all. Guests threw back traditional Louisiana party drinks courtesy of co-sponsors Malibu, Jameson and Absolut, ate authentic beignets and po' boys, and let the music of DJ Scotty Boy, Charles Feelgood and Mason Rothert transport them to the Gulf Coast.
