Each week, we include the Monday Wax On, Wax Off night at The Dime in our totally awesome radical calendar of L.A. events, but we haven't brought you inside what really goes down there... Until now. Of course the week we go, Mr. Miyagi is a NO-SHOW. Typical.

But we can still take you on a journey of this weekly no-laptops, strictly vinyl night brought to us by resident DJs Mr. Best, StoneRokk, and Adam 12 through the words of the sagacious karate master. So come, young grasshopper...

"Better learn balance. Balance is key. Balance good, karate good. Everything good. Balance bad, better pack up, go home."

"Man who catch fly with chopstick accomplish anything."

"No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher. Teacher say, student do."

"You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity."

"In Okinawa, all Miyagi know two things: fish and karate."

"First learn stand, then learn fly. Nature rule, Daniel-san, not mine."
