On Saturday, Opening Ceremony, L.A.'s top purveyor of hard-to-find hipster-chic fashion and style had a fantastic turnout for their Parking Lot Official Grand Opening party. If you were in the area, you couldn't miss it, thanks to Spike Jonze's "You & Me on La Cienega" Air Dancers and the sea of L.A. fashionistas and indie kids swarming the parking lot.  Guests who came out socialized and exchanged compliments on each others' outfits as they enjoyed a variety of tacos, churros, red wine, and lots of Tecate cervezas.

A number of local notables were there for the Saturday afternoon gathering, including Spike Jonze, Mischa Barton and Peaches Geldof, and aside from the paparazzi hovering over the store's property line the entire time to snap their photos, they kept it very low-key and casual. The sight of all the paparazzi lined up, hungrily waiting for the right photo-op to present itself, along the edge of the parking lot was truly hilarious.  Have you ever seen dogs pacing along the edge of a property with an invisible fence that they know from experience will zap them with a little electric shock if they step any further? Okay, it was that same sort of scenario, except with humans... Kind of priceless.

Everyone was in very good spirits, and for a moment, we kind of forgot we were all just standing around in a parking lot.  Regardless, all the bases to creating a successful daytime event were there (food, music, a great crowd, and drinks) and it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon in a parking lot on La Cienega.
