Slide #1
Iconic filmmaker, artist, coffee maker, and Transcendental Meditation (TM) advocate David Lynch celebrated his 68th birthday last night with a live music-infused, rock star-filled party for Ringo Starr. Presented by The David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace, the night honored Starr with the "Lifetime of Peace & Love Award" for his longtime support and practice of TM. The event also marked the global launch of DLF LIVE, the foundation's new performance arts events division which will continue next month with A Night Of Harmony, a second award ceremony to honor music producer Rick Ruben with the "Lifetime of Harmony Award."
A slew of famous musicians took the stage at last night's celebration of Peace & Love for tribute performances of Starr's songs. The all-star lineup included Ben Harper, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, Betteye LaVette, The Head and the Heart, Ben Folds, musical director Don Was, and more, who performed songs like "Octopus's Garden," "Oh My My," "It Don't Come Easy," and "With A Little Help from My Friends." Starr even hopped on stage to join the night's performers in their renditions of his famous music. Other notables who came out for the fantastic evening were Jim Carrey, Barbara Bach, Sheila E., and mayor Eric Garcetti.
Tickets are still available for next month's DLF LIVE event honoring Rick Ruben and it looks like it's going to be another amazing night of live music, so get yours before it's too late.
