Eagerly awaiting the onset of summer, sailors in about 200 competing yachts descended upon The Cape last weekend to take part in the Figawi Race Weekend.
A relatively prominent race, “The Figawi†attracts boats from all around New England and while it is a race, its primary aim is to be a fun event. The beloved annual regatta featured a Friday night kickoff ball at Hyannis Yacht Club, a 19-nautical-mile course race from Hyannis, MA to Nantucket, MA on Saturday and a weekend long tent party on island.
