This event was held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills and hosted by the stunning Angela Bassett. For over 21 years, the annual fundraiser has raised millions for high priority cancer research at UCLA, and it shows: the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation is the 5th leading cancer research center in the nation.
James Corden presented Yael and Scooter Braun the Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award. Corden kept the audience amused, joking, "Yael and Scooter do to cancer what United does to its passengers…grab it by the scruff of the neck and say get out!"
Guests included Jerrod Carmichael, Jussie Smollett, Matt McGorry, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Cameron Fuller, Fred Savage, David Bernon, Clark Gregg and Jennifer Grey as well as dedicated philanthropists Dana Walden, Jay Sures, Dr. Kenneth Dorshkind, Randall M. Katz, Jordan Walder, Dr. Steve Smale and Margaret Steele.
