7. Coffee Table Books
When in doubt, give coffee table books as gifts. As long as you know a little something about the person and their interests (and hopefully you know at least one thing your mom is into), getting them a coffee table book is a pretty simple, painless task. One can never have enough coffee table books to add to their collection and whatever it is that tickles your mother's fancy, there's a coffee table book about. And probably with very cool pictures available in hardcover by Taschen. Lead Apron on Melrose Place also sells expensive and rare artsy books in limited edition but be prepared to drop some serious coin if you plan to shop for a gift there. Prices vary, visit Taschen or Lead Apron
