El Carmen is a casual Mexican bar and restaurant located in Mid-City on W 3rd Street. If you’re looking for a more intimate cantina feel and design this is the place to go. The inside features vintage movie posters, vibrant Latin-American colors, oil paintings of masked Mexican wrestlers and a jukebox that plays very loud rock. El Carmen's menu is 16 pages, the first two of which list the food, and the 14 others for the cocktails and incredibly extensive tequila selection with shots ranging from $6 to $850. If shots are not your scene then try their fruit-infused margaritas for $10 . Word on the street is their pomegranate, spicy and blood-orange margaritas are the best. Try to make it there for “Hora de Fiesta” (5pm-7pm) to score $5 Margaritas, $3 Tecate, $5 Nachos, $4 Quesadillas, $4 Ceviche and $2 Guacamole and more!
