You've found a really awesome balance with everything that you do. How did you go about seeking that and really achieving it?
Probably just curiosity. And I know that it’s a typical thing to say, but not being afraid to fail. I’ve fallen hard. I’ve also flown. You discover that you can’t be afraid to fly, but when you are flying you also can’t be afraid to fall. It’s really interesting. And once you start letting go of the anxiety around the changes that are inevitable and you just kind of let it flow, you start to learn at your core what you really need. I invested in a house; I invested in my spot early on. I have my dog who I found on the streets on Melrose. She crawled out of the bushes with fleas all over her and three kinds of worms, and she was 8 pounds and now she’s 70. She’s really my most solid relationship. It’s this process of finding the things that are really important: your core group of friends, the food that you need in your fridge, clothes that you love.
