Minx Society Celebrates Its One Year Anniversary At Tropicana

After flexing their party muscle over the summer with their weekly 'Society' to reclaim many an Angeleno's forlorn Saturday night, we wouldn't expect anything less than the best for their own birthday party. From synchronized swimmers to live painting and sweet treats, last night Minx Society spared no extravagance for their golden One Year Anniversary celebration at Tropicana.

With a theme of a Hollywood Golden Age revival, L.A.'s original Minxes Casey Winchell and Leah Appell couldn't have picked a better spot than the iconic Roosevelt Hotel. It may be damn near October, but in L.A. "fall" doesn't really mean anything until we stop having pool parties, so a poolside celebration was just what the doctor ordered for this special occasion. As a trendsetting arbiter of hip, Minx Society covered their bases of fanciful features and a DJ lineup of local favorites including iSHOWMYSELF's Pika and Will Crimes.

For this gilt celebration, guests threw back cocktails and shots courtesy of Marquez de Valencia Tequila, got lost in a golden gifting suite loaded with goodies by J Brand, MAC, Shop Trashy, snacked on mini cupcakes by Frosted Cupcakery & Babycakes NYC, and enjoyed a live painting installation by CYRCLE. But the highlight of the night had to be the secret live performance by the lovely synchronized swimming troupe Aqualillies. Guests crowded around as the ladies dove into the famous David Hockney-painted pool and did their special Minx-worthy number. It was the perfect touch to make the night a little extra special.

Hats off to Minx Society for another swimming success at last night's golden poolside fete. And here's to another year of Minxing it up—we're already looking forward to a second anniversary we know will somehow find a way to top its first, Minx-style.
