Meryl Streep's Record Breaking Win
A big surprise of the night was
Meryl Streep's third Oscar win. She's been nominated 17 times, but the last time she won was 29 years ago for lead actress in "Sophie's Choice." Most guesser's had Viola Davis for her lead in
The Help as the sure fire win, since she would've been only the second black woman to win for the lead, after
Halle Berry, and would have put Davis and her "Help" costar
Octavia Spencer in the history books for winning in the same year, and for the same film.
