Slide #1

From 11am-11pm, Make Music Pasadena 2013 and its main stages drew thousands of fans braving the 90+ degree heat for a chance to see roughly 200 buzz bands and artists performing across Old Town Pasadena. YACHT, The Peach Kings, and Youngblood Hawke performed at the center of the free, donation-based festival on the Old Pasadena Indie Rock Stage. Meanwhile, three blocks up, We Are Scientists, Robert DeLong, and Tanlines performed on the Playhouse District Eclectic Stage. In addition to the outdoor stages, dozens of participating venues in the Old Town Pasadena area opened their doors for live festival  performances, featuring everything from Americana to hip-hop. With the sun beating down all afternoon, the crowd kept cool with free fans courtesy of Amoeba Records and free iced tea from Fuse (yes, FREE!). Festival goers enjoyed even more gratis goodies from other booths like Blaze Pizza and Tampico which gave out freebies for liking their Facebook page or for showing a metro pass. With food and drinks galore and the opportunity to see hundreds of rising music stars for free, this year's installment of Make Music Pasadena made for an exceptionally awesome Saturday for all who came out to play.
