When it was announced that Eminem was set to perform a duet with Elton John on the song "Stan" at the 2001 Grammy Awards, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) went nuts; a fitting reaction since in the months following the release of Eminem's The Marshall Mather LP, GLAAD had severely criticized the rapper for his "homophobic" lyrics. The resulting performance with one of the biggest queens around wasn't as weird as people thought it would be, but I imagine it must have been a little awkward for Dido (who Sir Elton John replaced).
