At the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards last night, the drizzling rain threatened to turn the glamorous red carpet into a dish sponge and the perfectly made-up nominees into... well, runny watercolor paintings. But as we can see, the winners were more than happy to ditch their umbrellas for a much more satisfying (yet probably not weatherproof) Golden Globe.
Some "wowza!" moments (and be sure to read the play-by-play) from last night's ceremony included "Avatar's win for "Best Motion Picture (Drama)" and Michael C. Hall's well deserved win for his role on Showtime's "Dexter." Also, Mo'Nique accepted her new mantle piece with a speech that made everyone else feel like there was no point in even trying to match it, and that it was okay to start drinking like the awards' host, Ricky Gervais. But Sandra Bullock tried to be eloquent when she stepped up on the stage after winning for her role in "The Blind Side," and delivered something of the "eh, so-so (head shrug)" variety. True to his form, Robert Downey Jr. explained he had no one to thank when he won for "Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy or Drama." And honestly, being ungrateful has never been so cool.
