3. Paul van Dyk - $50 million
Paul van Dyk is an (almost) household name at this point as our #3 wealthiest DJ has won Grammy's, and been ranked the world's #1 DJ in 2005, 2006. Fun fact-- he originally studied to be a carpenter! Before he was a DJ, Paul van Dyk grew up in East Berlin where he turned to radio to stay in touch with the world beyond the Berlin wall. He liked popular Western radio, and was inspired, after the wall fell, to start spinning some of his favorite music. Paul van Dyk even used his role as a DJ to get a greater point across. DJ Paul Van Dyk shares a lot of anti-war messages and believes that music is the uniting factor between all people.
"Palestinians are dancing with Israelis. Lebanese people are dancing with Israelis – without war, without anything in their minds other than treating each other respectfully", said van Dyk in 2006.
