Will Kurtz, Another Shit Show

In his second solo exhibition at the Mike Weiss Gallery, Will Kurtz claims the entire space as his territory by letting his dogs run free. The lively mise-en-scène installation consists of to-scale sculptures of more than 20 canines of varying breeds, as well as their animated dog-walker, created completely out of layers of newspaper, wire, and other found materials. The members of the motley crew all display different headlines and clippings, from cultural commentary to political news, furthering the sense of a sort of schizophrenic society in which we are all made up of scraps.
