Let's face it, we all want to live like, eat like, and look like Gwyneth. It's a fact that she's built an entire lifestyle brand around. But no matter how many jade eggs we buy and facials we splurge on, the sad truth is that our Holy Mother of Goop was simply born with good genes that, well, we thought we could never have. Until now.
At a recent launch party at the oh-so-chic La Mercerie in New York, GP unveiled GOOPGENES, an ingestible beautifier that gives skin a Gwyneth glow friom the inside out. It may sound too good to be true, but the collagen-packed "superpowder" joins the ranks of skin-enhancing supplements that wellness goddesses the world over have been swearing by. We mean, it certainly can't hurt.
The pretty-in-pink metallic packets (hi, Instagram?), which are available in both a 30-pack and a 5-pack, contain a potent mixture of marine collagen, aloe vera, ceramides, and astaxanthin, which improve skin elasticity, retain moisture, and help fight free-radicals that cause damage to your complexion. Starting in our 20s, FYI, our skin's natural collagen production slows down, so consuming skin-supporting peptides is also a great way to start that anti-aging routine you’re convinced you don’t need yet.
Besides the addition of other superfood ingredients, GOOPGENES stands out among the typically bland, or just plain bad-tasting, collagen powders on the market. Made to mix into water, the pink formula is infused with vanilla, giving it a sweet, almost sherbert-like flavor.
After a few days of mixing it into our water bottles, we can’t say for sure if we look more Gwyneth-y, but we certainly do feel chic pulling out the packets in front of our friends. Plus, it’s way less painful than Botox.
