"Best 2K I Ever Spent!" Ella Wednesdays Is Mix-Tape-a-riffic!

by SUSANNAH LONG · May 14, 2010

It's been a while since we checked in with Ella Wednesdays at the Ella Lounge. It's also been a while since we our last mixtape. Coincidence? We think not. Luckily, Ella Wednesdays provided ample inspiration for our extracurricular CD burnin' activities . . .

That's right. We're 15-year-olds in love (again) with that hot, bespectacled guy in our Health class, the one who never giggles when certain awkward subjects come up. And to win his love, we shall craft a perfect collection of seemingly randomly selected songs - which are actually totally close to our heart and meaningful - which we shall accompany with a hand-written guide.

I Kissed a Girl (either the Katy Perry version or the Jill Sobule version; they're both about, you know, kissing girls. Hence the title.)

Soundtrack to The Witches of Eastwick

Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera

I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) by Meatloaf

Girls by the Beastie Boys (Sample lyric: "I ought to whip out my - girls, girls, girls, girls, girls!!!)

Raise Your Hands For Detroit by Fedde Le Grand. (if only because of the genius music video. Genius.)

You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)  by Dead or Alive

If You Wanna Be My Lover by The Spice Girls

Soundtrack to Zoolander.

Foreground: Barbie Girl by Aqua Background: Can't Control Myself by the Ramones

Pinch Me by The Barenaked Ladies
