Inside Caroline Vazzana's Magical Lavender Field Engagement

Caroline Vazzana gave fans the best burst of good news late last month when she announced her engagement to long time boyfriend and college sweetheart David Lopes. He proposed at Mad Lavender Farm in New Jersey to their song "Have I Told You Lately" by Rod Stewart. Can you even!?

Now that she's had a hot second to catch her breath, we caught up with Caroline to grab the scoop on fiancée life, and what's next for wedding planning!

Was there a particular moment when you knew he was the one?
Probably after our first or second date. Dave is just such an incredible person and a true gentleman. On our first date I’ll never forget that he wore dress pants and a nice shirt (we were in college) and opened the door for me to his car. It’s little things like this that to me showed he really cared.

How did he propose?
He rented out a lavender field, which is one of my favorite flowers, and popped the question there! I was told we were going to a socially distanced wine tasting!

Did you see it coming at all?
Since we’ve been quarantined together for the past four months, I had absolutely no idea it was coming. I didn’t even realized he had found a ring, but it turned out he started looking in January and then was just sitting on the ring waiting for the right moment.

Have you gotten used to wearing the ring?
Yes! I love it so much! I actually love wearing rings and you usually will see me wearing at least four rings, so I was keeping my ring finger open and ready for whenever this might happen.

Have you settled on any wedding details yet?
With everything going on, we haven’t done too much yet but we’re looking at 2022 as of now.

What's your advice for quarantine couples trying to make plans?
Take your time and don’t rush. Take time to find the dress of your dreams and the perfect venue. You’ve waited this long in your life to get engaged, so take a little extra time to make sure everything’s special and how you dreamed it would be.

What do you imagine your wedding vibes will be like?
I hope for it be to very magical and almost fairytale like! The dress on the other hand I’m hoping for it to be the perfect blend of over the top, eclectic but also modern and classic - so stay tuned!
