 Over the past month or so of "The Great Gatsby" press tour, we've gotten very used to seeing Carey Mulligan's blonde hair. We almost forgot that the British leading lady's blonde transformation is actually quite recent. Before the movie, we'd grown accustomed to seeing her with much darker locks, proving that she is quite the chameleon, seamlessly going from one color to another without batting an eyelash. But the constant dying for roles has actually left Carey with quite a bit of hair damage. A friend of the actress explained,

"Carey is not overly concerned with aesthetics but is incredibly professional, so she was stoic about having to sacrifice her looks for her art. She was eager to please, so she obliged. But when she finished filming she burst into tears because of the damage the peroxide had done."
