Hope, Help, Relief Haiti Benefit On The Standard's 18th Floor

Last night, Andre Harrell, Mary J.Blige, Donna Karan and Andre Balazs threw a Haiti Benefit at the top of the Standard Hotel. The guest list was a Who's Who of New York's fashion and music industries, excited to not only catch a live performance by Mary J and Wyclef Jean, but to a peek at the Standard's newly opened Black Bar.-

Everyone knows that the Boom Boom Room is on the Eastern side of the 18th Floor of the Standard, but Boom's got some competition now from across the hall. The tiny Black Bar (thusly named because of the all black decor), was designed by Balazs himself, and boasts a pool, a vending machine that sells condoms, and of course a breathtaking view.

People didn't exactly take the plunge last night, (though Michael Arguello came close), but the Black Bar is sure to heat up many a Fashion Week party.

Guests warming up for the intense week of fashion and partying at last night's Haiti Benefit included Tinsley Mortimer (who spent the first part of her night at Robert Verdi's reality show launch), Rachel Zoe, Tory Burch, and Derek Blasberg.
