Kageno, the organization that promotes community development in Rwanda and Kenya, held its 7th Annual Harambee Gala at Espace last week. (Harambee, by the way, is the official motto of Kenya, and means "a tradition of community self-help events.) The event included dinner, luxury auction run by Xan Serafin of Christie's, and a performance by Abena Koomsom of Broadway's FELA!

Lakay Pam founder Carolina Bittencourt threw a huge Voodoo Halloween party for her birthday at the former Buddha Bar last Saturday, and we were thoroughly impressed with the costumes. I Dream Of Jeanie, a very realistic Sweeney Todd, a fierce cavewoman, and, our personal favorite, Karl Lagerfeld!
